DESCRIPTION:One good thing about music\, when it hits you\, you feel no pain.\n– Bob Marley \nBluFunk Band is an eclectic blend of Funk and R&B infused with notes of Jazz\, Reggae\, Pop and Rock covering such artists as: Earth Wind & Fire\, Kool & The Gang\, Aretha Franklin\, K.C. & The Sunshine Band and Michael Jackson to name a few. \nBluFunk Band was founded in 2012 in Portsmouth\, VA by original members DJ “The Drummerboy” Jordan and Kay Hunter. \nDJ “The Drummer Boy” Jordan has been a drummer for more than 40yrs experience and has opened for various major recording artists over the years. To add to his credits\, he founded local band PHAZZ II and has played with others such as Band Of Brothers and Second Chance to name a few. Coupled with Kay Hunter\, a vocalist with a flare for all genres\, BluFunk Band was formed. \nWhile the band was founded on love\, it took several years to come up with the perfect collaboration which now includes eight members (3 vocalists and 5 marvelous musicians). \n•    Andrew Crudup: A vibrant saxophonist and flutist\, Andrew is BluFunk Band’s Mistro Of Music and directs our voices.\n•    Derek Robinson: A pianist with an abundant church background who keeps us on queue.\n•    Edwarner “Snap” Ruffin: Brilliant bassist who grounds our sound and infuses “Funk” in every inch of our show.\n•    Jimmy Evans: A super seasoned guitarist and songwriter\n•    Donald Smith: A vocalist specializing in Temptations and Old School favorites\n•    Chauncey Love: A vocalist with smooth tones and a New School flavor. \nBluFunk Band is available as a trio\, jazz band\, and a show band.  Wherever and whatever your need\, BluFunk is here to please with sounds for your mind\, body and soul.
